Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card from a 2070 Super to a 9070xt, but I've been advised that my 3700x CPU might bottleneck the performance. Right now, I can't afford to upgrade my CPU too, but I plan to do so next year. Do you think using the 9070xt with a 3700x will be a big issue? I have a 1440p ultrawide monitor, and the 2070 Super is already struggling with it. I don't play a lot of games, but I'm hoping to check out Cyberpunk and maybe Borderlands 4 during the holidays. I'm curious about how CPU/GPU intensive these games are and whether I'd face any significant problems if I go ahead with the upgrade. I'd love to crank up the ray tracing in Cyberpunk! Thanks for any insights!

You should be good! While your CPU might not push the GPU to its limit, you'll still enjoy a solid gaming experience. You can run most games at high settings without major issues. It won't be a severe bottleneck, so go for it!
In terms of performance, it should be just fine. You'll get a nice boost with the new card, even if your CPU isn't maxing it out. You're right about Cyberpunk being demanding, but the 3700x will handle it decently well unless you're aiming for 100+ fps constantly.
If you're worried about CPU bottlenecks, just consider upgrading to a 4K monitor! But honestly, you’ll still see a big improvement with the 9070xt. It's not going to hurt anything to swap it in now and get more performance out of it.
You'll notice a significant upgrade, but you're correct, you won't be tapping into the full potential of the 9070xt just yet. However, even with the CPU, you'll have fun gaming; just plan on upgrading the CPU down the line to really feel that performance boost!
Exactly! A couple of smaller upgrades can be just as satisfying as one big one.
It's really not as severe as some say. Just bumping up your graphics settings can help balance things out. If you're not too hung up on frame rates, your setup will handle Cyberpunk just fine!

Thanks for the reassurance! I'm definitely aiming to enjoy the visuals more than stressing over frame rates!
