Is upgrading from an RTX 5070 to a 9070 XT worth it?

Hey everyone! I'm currently using an RTX 5070 with 12GB, and I've found a really good deal for the 9070 XT with 16GB. If I decide to sell my current card and switch to the 9070 XT, the upgrade would only cost me €100. I'm curious if you think making the switch is a good idea, or if the performance difference is worth it. Just for context, I use my PC mainly for gaming, including single-player games and Fortnite, at a 1440p resolution. My setup includes a Ryzen 7 9700X and 32GB of DDR5 RAM.

It's an upgrade, but not a game-changer. Honestly, considering the effort involved in swapping cards, I'd probably stick with the 5070 if it’s working well for you.

If you’re mainly gaming at 1440p, the 5070 still holds up well. The extra VRAM from the 9070 XT is more beneficial for higher resolutions like 4K, but the 5070's performance is quite strong at 1440p with DLSS support providing good upscaling.

For €100, it’s a good deal! If it were any more than that, I’d say pass, but at that price, go for it!

Upgrading to the 9070 XT would definitely give you a nice performance boost! It's a solid choice if you're looking for an improvement over your current setup.

Yeah, I'd snag the 9070 XT! It’s a good option, especially if you're planning on keeping your rig for a while.

While there is a performance increase, it's not huge—more like 10% or so. It's essentially a single-step upgrade within the same generation. If the 5070 is running everything fine for you, it might not be worth the hassle of switching.

My 5070 runs great at 1440p, so I wasn't planning on going to 4K. Just curious about ray tracing and DLSS4 since they look awesome!

Actually, the performance uplift from 5070 to 9070 XT is closer to 32%. So it's a bit more than what you think!

In my opinion, it's definitely worth it for €100. That’s a small price for a noticeable upgrade!
