Is Upgrading from i5-10400 to Ryzen 5 7500F Worth It?

Hey everyone! I just graduated and landed a job, so I've finally got some cash saved up for a PC upgrade, aside from my GPU. I'm thinking about swapping my Intel i5-10400 for a Ryzen 5 7500F and adding a modest MSI B650M Gaming Plus Wifi motherboard. I'll also get 32GB of TForce Vulcan ECO 6000MT/s CL30 DDR5 RAM since I currently only have a single 16GB stick of Corsair LPX 2666MT/s DDR4. My GPU is a Palit 1660Ti 6GB, but I'm planning to upgrade to a 4070S later on. I'm pretty new to this whole upgrading process and want to make sure I'm making a worthwhile investment. Is the Ryzen 5 7500F a substantial upgrade from the i5-10400, or should I consider something else for better gaming performance?

Absolutely, upgrading to the Ryzen 5 7500F will give you a significant boost in performance due to its better IPC. But just so you know, the improvements might not feel as drastic as when you upgrade to that 4070 you're eyeing.

So would you say the 4070 would be a bigger upgrade than the CPU?
