I'm looking to upgrade my CPU from an AMD Ryzen 5 3500X to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D, but I have some concerns about potential bottlenecks. My current GPU is a GTX 1080, and I'm wondering if this upgrade would be worthwhile or if my existing specs are too outdated to make the most out of the new CPU. Additionally, should I consider getting a Ryzen 5 5700X3D instead? Here are my full specs for reference:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3500X
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
- RAM: 16GB DDR4 3200MHz
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M K
- PSU: Aigo 650W
- Storage: 1TB SATA SSD and 256GB M.2 SSD

Both of these CPUs have been out for a while and could be a little pricey now. I’d suggest questioning if the money you're spending is worth the boost you'll get. If your Ryzen 5 3500X is significantly holding you back, consider whether a cheaper option can serve you better.

Could you recommend a decent CPU at a similar price point to the 5800X3D? I'm really in need of an upgrade because my 3500X isn't cutting it for my gaming needs.
