I'm currently using a Ryzen 7 5700X with an RX 7600 and gaming at 1080p. I've been considering upgrading to the 5700X3D for a performance boost, but I'm unsure if the improvements would be noticeable with my current GPU. I'm looking for a smoother gaming experience without needing extreme settings. Has anyone made this upgrade and felt it was worthwhile, or did it just feel like a slight enhancement? Would love to hear your thoughts!

I'd hold off on the upgrade. The used prices for the 5700X3D are climbing, and honestly, your current setup is solid for 1080p. Unless you’re planning to go for a full CPU, motherboard, and RAM upgrade soon, staying with the 5700X is a better call.
At 1080p, your 5700X is good enough unless you're aiming for high settings or playing at 1440p. The 5700X3D does perform better, but the boost might not be significant for your setup—check out some YouTube benchmarks for a clearer picture before deciding!
Honestly, I wouldn't say it's worth it with an RX 7600. I upgraded from 5700X to 5700X3D with a 6800XT, and I've never had smoother gameplay, but that's because my GPU was already powerful. You might be better off saving your money for a stronger GPU upgrade in the future.
Nope, you're not going to see much from that upgrade. The RX 7600 is what's holding you back, not the CPU. If you're looking for a better performance lift, consider upgrading your graphics card instead. Even a new GPU, like the RTX 5060, will give you a better experience!
It's really not worth the switch. The gains from 5700X to 5700X3D just aren’t huge enough, especially when you consider that the RX 7600 is bottlenecking your performance already. If you primarily play CPU-heavy games like city builders, maybe look at the 5800X3D instead, but overall, focus on a GPU upgrade for a significant boost in performance.
Thinking of jumping from 16GB to 32GB RAM, do you think that would help?
