I'm considering an upgrade to shift from 1080p to 1440p gaming, but I'm torn about sticking with my current AM4 setup. Given the current high prices for RAM and SSDs (and possibly GPUs in the future), I'm thinking about just upgrading my GPU, CPU, and PSU while adding more DDR4 RAM. My final planned build includes a B450 AORUS ELITE motherboard, 32GB of 3600MHz RAM, a Cooler Master V850 Gold V2 PSU, an Nvidia RTX 5070-Ti, and an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D. I'm concerned about how much performance I might lose or if this setup is too risky. What are your thoughts?

Going with the RTX 5070-Ti and 5700X3D, you're looking at a setup that can easily manage current games. People often talk about upgrading for the latest tech, but a well-rounded older setup can still hold its own, especially for 1440p.
If you're saving money by sticking with AM4 instead of going for an AM5 build, I think it's a solid choice. This setup should last you for years. Just make sure to check how much you're spending overall—if it’s a good deal under current prices, you’ll be fine in terms of performance.
Yeah, I feel you on the pricing. In some places, even decent upgrades can cost a fortune. If it ends up being too costly, maybe just hold off and use your current setup until prices drop.
Your 5700X3D should handle 1440p gaming quite nicely. It's true that higher resolutions can alleviate the performance gap between AM4 and AM5, so your GPU will do most of the heavy lifting. Just ensure your BIOS is updated for the best performance.
Exactly! If your PSU is solid enough, you should have no issues gaming at 1440p. Your RAM setup looks good too.
I'd suggest staying with AM4 for now and possibly waiting for AM6 to release. Upgrading can be a hassle, especially given current market prices. Plus, AM4 chips like the 5700X3D still perform really well for gaming, especially as resolution increases.
Totally agree! AM4’s been great, and waiting might actually save you from spending more in a year or two when new tech arrives.

Right? I also believe that you can get great performance on older platforms without unnecessary expense. If it's more about enjoying gaming right now than having the latest, go for it!
