Is Upgrading My ASUS S500MC Prebuilt Worth It for Video Editing?

I recently purchased an ASUS S500MC prebuilt desktop primarily for video editing, some basic productivity tasks, and an occasional game. Here are its specifications: CPU - Intel i5-11400, integrated graphics (Intel UHD Graphics 730), 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 300W OEM power supply. Lately, it feels sluggish during multitasking and video editing. I'm considering upgrading by adding an Intel Arc B580 GPU since it has the most VRAM available for under $300, and I'm also looking for a reliable 700W power supply. The power connections and PCIe setup are standard ATX. Should I go ahead with these upgrades, or would it be better to hold off and invest in a new laptop in a couple of years? Just as a note, I'm not located in the US. Thanks for your input!

A 700W power supply might be overkill since you're just adding one Intel Arc B580. Your current setup should handle that, but you might want to consider a RAM upgrade too for better performance with multitasking.

Got it! RAM prices are high now, and I only have two slots available, so upgrading might not be feasible currently. Would a 600W PSU be sufficient instead?

Honestly, you might not even need to upgrade. Your setup seems capable enough for your intended tasks. The slowness could be more about software rather than hardware.

Thanks! I'm leaning towards the GPU mainly because I struggle with editing even short timelines in DaVinci Resolve. I regularly clean my PC and manage the cache but still can't pinpoint the issue. Any ideas on what might be causing it?
