Is Upgrading My Gaming PC Worthwhile?

Hey everyone! I've been saving up a bit and I'm considering upgrading my old gaming rig. With RAM prices what they are, I'm hesitant to make the jump to AM5 and DDR5. Instead, I'm thinking about sticking with AM4 for now and making some smaller upgrades. My current setup includes an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X CPU, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and I typically game at 1080p.

Here's what I'm looking to upgrade: I'm thinking about a new GPU (either an RX 9070 XT or RTX 5070, with a $100 price difference), moving up to an AMD R7 5700X CPU, adding another 16GB of RAM, and upgrading my PSU to a 750W 80 PLUS GOLD. I live in Poland, and my budget for all this is around 4000-4500 zł ($1100-$1250).

Do you think this is a worthwhile upgrade? Will I see a significant improvement, especially switching to 1440p?

About the RAM, do you have one stick or two? If you're running dual-channel right now, adding another 16GB stick might not be the best move. Ideally, get a pair of 16GB sticks to maximize performance. For GPU, the regular 9070 offers great power efficiency and you might not even need a new PSU! Your current CPU, the 5600X, is still quite capable for most games.

I wouldn’t recommend the 5700X. Instead, look at the RX 9070 XT if you're gaming primarily. It's a way better investment. Keep in mind the importance of the 1440p resolution you want to target and how that affects GPU choice. If you think you'll still play at 1080p for some titles, the 5070 is also a decent pick.

I'd say stick with the 5600X and just upgrade your GPU to the 9070 or 9070 XT. That will definitely give you the biggest performance boost for gaming at 1440p. There's no need for a new PSU and your 16GB RAM will still handle most games well. Save your budget for a more significant upgrade down the line!

Honestly, upgrading to the 5700X might not give you the best bang for your buck, especially since you're mainly gaming. Your current specs are already pretty solid. If your games lean more towards GPU usage, focus on getting a better GPU instead of a new CPU. But if you're playing CPU-heavy games, then consider a CPU upgrade, although the 5700X might not be necessary right now.
