Hey everyone! I'm living in Sweden and bought my PC about six months ago right before the 50 series NVIDIA cards were announced. I didn't do much research back then, and now I'm planning to upgrade my monitor to 1440p and try out some more demanding games. I have a couple of questions:
1. Should I upgrade my GPU to better handle 1440p gaming and prepare for future titles?
2. If I do go for a GPU upgrade, should I also consider upgrading my motherboard, CPU, and RAM to benefit from DDR5 and PCI 5? I've been thinking about switching to AMD for better gaming performance and avoiding the overheating issues with Intel's newer CPUs.
Since I'm studying web development on a student budget, I can't afford to buy all new parts at once. Would it be better to wait until I can afford everything, or is it okay just to upgrade the GPU for now?

I'd suggest starting with the monitor and testing out the games you want to play first. I managed to game at 1440p with less powerful hardware, but keep in mind that different games demand different resources.
Like the others said, start with the monitor and see how your current setup handles the games. With the GPU market being tight in Sweden, you might want to wait and get a better deal.
I went through something similar! I had a Radeon GPU and found a way to test 1440p gaming on my 1080p screen before buying my monitor. I’m not sure if Nvidia has that feature, though.
