I'm considering a switch from my current PC setup, which includes an ASUS PRIME X470-PRO motherboard, a RYZEN 9 5900X processor, 48GB of DDR4 RAM at 3200 MHz, and an RTX 3070 graphics card. I'm thinking about upgrading to an ASROCK X870 PRO motherboard with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, 32GB of 6000 MHz CL30 RAM, and a RADEON 9070 XT graphics card. The main reason for the upgrade is the current performance limitations, as I usually play games at almost max settings but experience some FPS drops. Also, I'll be using the new setup for 1440p gaming. Unfortunately, prices are pretty high right now, so I'm on the fence about whether it's worth making this change, especially since my existing PC will be passed down to my wife.

If your current rig isn't giving you the performance you want, then why not go for it? The market's not going to get any cheaper anytime soon!
The 5900X is a great CPU, but I can see it starting to lag a bit in modern games. Going for the upgrade could really elevate your gaming experience—especially with those extra cores and faster RAM if you're running multiple monitors. You might just be blown away by the performance!
Totally agree! My last upgrades were amazing, going from a Ryzen 5 2600 to the 5900X was life-changing. Sure, I sometimes drop frames with my 3070, but it still performs well for 1440p. Plus, I've got dual monitors, which helps a lot.
That's a big improvement, especially for gaming! While it might not be as significant for productivity, if you can afford it, now might be the time to upgrade before prices rise even more. I recently decided to upgrade too, fearing prices might skyrocket even higher and wanting a reliable rig for the future.
I feel that uncertainty too! I’ve been pondering this for months, but I finally decided to pull the trigger before GPU prices went even higher.

Yeah, the high prices are really pushing me towards the new build too. My 5900X is decent, but I hit those drops often when I'm pushing max settings.
