Hey everyone! I'm considering upgrading to either a 5060ti or a 5070, but I'm currently using an i5 9600k that I've overclocked to 4.9GHz. I game on a 1080p monitor with 144Hz. I'm wondering if this upgrade will be a mistake or if I should just hold off and save up for a complete system upgrade. Money is tight, but I'm yearning for better frame rates. Also, I can get another CPU for the 1151 chipset, but I'm not sure if anything out there is significantly better than what I have now. What do you think? Thanks!

Either card is likely to keep you locked at 144fps with max settings for most games. The only notable exception might be CPU-heavy games like Baldur's Gate 3, where the CPU could hold you back a bit. But overall, any of those GPUs should work well!
At 1080p, you might definitely face some CPU bottlenecking unless you upgrade to 1440p. It could be worth checking how many frames your CPU can handle with settings dialed back. Just remember, that will help you gauge what you’ll get with the GPU upgrade when you're maxing out settings.
Upgrading to the 5070 should be a solid choice for 1080p gaming. If you run into issues with some titles, you can always adjust the graphics settings to high or ultra, or even scale the render resolution up to 1440p. From my experience with competitive games like Warzone, it's more about how well the game is optimized; I’ve had success using the Battle.net version too!
I'll definitely try that tip out, thanks!
