I built my gaming PC back in 2019, and while it's been great for 2k 144Hz gaming, I've recently felt some FOMO about upgrading due to the current RAM prices and the upcoming release of GTA 6. My current setup includes a 2070 Super GPU, an AMD Ryzen 7 3700x CPU, a B450 Tomahawk motherboard, 16GB of DDR4 3200 RAM, a 750W power supply, and a Fractal Design Meshify C case. I'm considering adding a 5070 Ti to my rig but I'm unsure if it will fit and if my system can take full advantage of its performance. Should I upgrade now, or look for a better overall upgrade path? Are CPUs and RAM also in need of an upgrade soon? I'm debating a high-end 5080 GPU, but if that means overhauling my whole system, I might stick to the 5070 Ti and save for future upgrades. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

For the best upgrade path, I'd recommend starting with the GPU. That change will give you the most significant improvement in FPS at 1440p. After that, if you're looking for more performance, you can consider upgrading your CPU eventually—it's possible to do this without changing your entire platform. Just aim for 32GB of RAM when you're ready, since that'll provide a noticeable boost in performance. And don’t forget to install your big games on an NVMe SSD for faster loading times!
Yep, the Intel 660p should do fine for storage! And for your motherboard, if you see a significant performance deal, don’t hesitate to switch. Just be wary of potential compatibility issues, especially with PCIe ports during future upgrades.
The 5070 Ti should be a solid upgrade! Just make sure to check the dimensions, as fitting can vary by GPU size. If you were to go for the 5080, be aware it might need a stronger power supply, though your current one could play nice with the 5070 Ti. Also, it’s worth mentioning that RAM prices are sky-high, but GPUs aren't at the same level yet. Your CPU should be fine for now—it mostly doesn't interfere with memory performance.

Thanks for the insights! I’m planning to grab the GPU tonight. For my CPU, I’m leaning towards the newest Ryzen since it’s worked well so far. Just to clarify, when you mentioned NVMe, you're talking about storage, right? My current setup has an Intel 660p 1TB, is that sufficient?
