I recently had to replace my 1440p IPS display with a new 4K OLED screen, and I'm worried my current system might struggle with that upgrade. My setup includes a Ryzen 7 3700X CPU and an RTX 3080 GPU, plus 32GB of RAM. I'm considering buying a 5070Ti for around 860 EUR, but I'm hesitant since I won't upgrade my CPU. Upgrading to the latest CPU or RAM feels too pricey right now. I'm happy with playing Battlefield 6 at 85-100 FPS on my current setup, but the idea of being stuck with this system for three more years looms. I want to know if the 5070Ti will handle 4K gaming well, even with my current CPU. It feels time-sensitive since prices for the GPU seem to be rising, and I'm unsure how much performance I might lose switching to 4K.

Jumping to a 5070Ti is a good call for 4K, even though your 3700X may not be top of the line. As long as you’re okay with lower frame rates, it should keep you happy for now. You can always consider a CPU upgrade later if it becomes necessary.
Your CPU may bottleneck with 4K gaming, especially in CPU-intensive titles. A 5700X could be a decent upgrade to avoid that, but if you're set on not upgrading your CPU, just get the 5070Ti for now. It should give you a solid performance boost without breaking the bank.

Especially since GPU prices are climbing, focusing on that first makes sense. If you decide to upgrade your CPU later, you’ll still have a good GPU.
