Is Upgrading to a 5700X3D a Good Idea?

I'm currently using a 5600X with a 6950XT primarily for playing Call of Duty. Lately, I've noticed some CPU bottlenecking and I'm contemplating whether I should upgrade to a 5700X3D. However, I'm hesitant about spending a lot on a new motherboard, RAM, and CPU since that could easily run me over £500, while the 5700X3D is around £200. What do you all think?

Honestly, $200 for the 5700X3D is pretty steep. It might not give you a huge performance boost for the price, especially if you're already happy with your 5600X.

It’s actually around $270. The UK prices are crazy, I'm struggling to find decent parts.

I made the jump from a 3700X to a 5700X3D, and let me tell you, the difference was huge! If your budget allows, it's definitely worth it for smoother gameplay.

If money is tight and you’re worried about the full upgrade cost, maybe just stick with what you have for now. The AM4 chips are still super capable and will likely keep performing for the next couple of years before you need a full system overhaul.

You don't need to rush into AM5 unless you really want to. The AM4 X3D chips still hold their ground on new AAA games.

The 5700X3D is the best AM4 CPU out there! You can grab it now and then upgrade again later when needed. It's a solid choice without throwing too much money into it right now.

Isn't the 5800X3D better?

If you're playing at 1080p, maybe consider upgrading your monitor instead of the CPU. The 5600X is still a strong performer unless you're really chasing high FPS. It might make more sense to go for a 1440p or 4k monitor instead.

Hadn’t thought of this… this might be the path I take.
