Hey everyone! I'm currently running a Ryzen 5 2600 on a B450 motherboard. I'm considering upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5500, but since it only supports PCIe 3.0, I'm not sure it'd be a big leap for me. The Ryzen 7 5700X is $60 more than the 5500, and although the 5600 is $38 more, I'd prefer the 5700X because it has two extra cores. I also have an RX 6650 XT, which I plan to upgrade eventually, but I'm uncertain about when. Do you think the performance boost would be significant with the 5700X? Thanks in advance for your insights!

The main issue with the Ryzen 5 5500 is its low cache size. It's actually pretty close to the Ryzen 5 3600 in gaming performance. If you go for the 5700X, you’ll definitely benefit from the extra cores, especially if you're gaming or multitasking. It's a solid choice, especially considering your current GPU setup!

Absolutely! That extra cache and cores can make a noticeable difference, particularly in more demanding games or applications.
