Hey everyone! I'm currently running an older Asus TUF 3080 OC and my CPU is a Ryzen 7 3700X. I'm seriously considering upgrading to a new CPU, specifically looking at the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, while also wanting to switch to DDR5 RAM and an AM5 motherboard. My concern is whether this upgrade will actually offer a significant performance boost, especially since my GPU usage rarely goes over 60% even while gaming at 5120x1440 resolution. So my main question is, is it worth it to upgrade from the 3700X to the 9800X3D while keeping the 3080?

It really depends on the games you're playing and the settings you use. For titles like Battlefield V or Tarkov, you could see benefits from upgrading, especially if your GPU is underutilized. But for other games, like Black Myth Wukong, you might not notice as much improvement, especially if you're utilizing ray tracing and high settings.
I play a mix of games too, and while I expect a nice boost in competitive games, I'm skeptical about how much better those single-player titles will run. My GPU still hardly goes above 80% usage in games like Monster Hunter.
