I'm currently using a 7700XT graphics card paired with an i5 12400F, and I came across a good deal on a Ryzen 7 5700X3D along with a motherboard. I've noticed that some games, like Arc Raiders and Battlefield 6, are pushing my current CPU pretty hard, and I've heard that the X3D chips perform really well with CPU-intensive games. Do you think it's worth upgrading? Can I expect to boost my average fps from around 90 to 144 fps+, especially since I have a 144Hz monitor?

The 5700X3D is indeed a solid CPU, but consider if it's overkill for your 7700XT. A more budget-friendly option could be the i5-14600K or KF, which provides competitive performance and often retails for about $150-175. This could be a smarter choice since some AM4 boards might not match the capabilities of LGA1700 counterparts.

I'm mainly concerned if the 14600K can hit 144fps in most new CPU-heavy titles. I won't be using high settings anyway, as a lot of recent games look pretty rough.
