I'm thinking about upgrading to an AM5 setup because there's a great deal at Micro Center for a 7800X3D kit, which includes a motherboard and 32GB of RAM for around $530 (excluding tax). I might add another 32GB of RAM, since more is usually better, right? I'm looking to keep my current case but would upgrade a fan or two. Right now, I'm using a 5800X3D CPU, 32GB of RAM, and a 4070 GPU, which I'd be moving to the new build. I mostly play older games, but I do enjoy newer titles like Oblivion, Elden Ring, and BG3 occasionally. My monitor resolution is 1900x1600 at 1080, and I'm not chasing the highest graphics settings. So, I'm wondering if it's worth making this upgrade now or if I should wait it out for something better.

Honestly, your 5800X3D is still pretty solid for gaming. If it were me, I'd hold off for AM6. It might be better to wait for a more significant upgrade unless you really want to.
