Is Upgrading to an i5 225F Worth It for Gaming and Rendering?

I'm considering an upgrade to an Intel i5 225F. I found a deal where I can sell my current setup (i5 12400F with an Asus Prime 760M-K D5) and only need to spend an additional $25 for the 225F with an ASRock H810M-H D5. I currently have a 5060 Ti and 16GB of RAM. I'm mainly looking to play AAA games, do some rendering, and even open my own Minecraft server. Is this upgrade a good deal?

Do you already have DDR5 RAM? That could impact your decision on the upgrade.

Yes, I do!

Have you considered how much a 14600K/F would cost after selling your 12400F? Also, are you sure you really need a new CPU right now?

It would be around $110. I need better multitasking for my work; I bought this just for gaming last year.

I'd recommend sticking with a CPU upgrade that works with your existing socket, something like a 13600K or 14600K would be a much larger improvement overall.

It's an okay deal for a slight boost in performance, but I'd suggest looking into a 12600K, 13400, or 14400 for a better overall upgrade.

Haha, in my area, those are pretty overpriced! The 225F seems to be cheaper because no one buys it.

For just $25 more, I’d say go for it. It's a nice upgrade for the price! Check out the benchmarks, it's worth it.

The i5 225F isn't really that fast. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend going for that upgrade. You might just end up disappointed.
