Is upgrading to DDR5 32GB 7200MHz CL34 worth it for my system?

I'm currently using an i7-12700K with DDR4 3200MHz CL16 RAM and a Radeon 9070 XT, playing games on a 3440x1440p ultrawide monitor. Ever since I got the 9070 XT two months ago (upgraded from a 3070), I've been facing significant performance issues like low FPS and stuttering during gameplay. I've reset Windows and installed clean drivers, but I suspect it might be a CPU or RAM bottleneck, since my CPU usage is extremely high but the GPU is performing lower than expected, drawing only about 150-200W. I'm considering upgrading my RAM to **Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 7200 CL34**, along with a Ryzen™ 7 7800X3D CPU and an AM5 motherboard. Would this be a good upgrade? Also, I found the DDR5 7200 kit second-hand for $480, while a 6000 CL30 kit costs around $650. By the way, I usually get about 100 fps in Arc Raiders with medium settings.

You might want to consider sticking with 6000MHz instead of jumping to 7200MHz. A lot of users find that 6000 is the sweet spot for AM5 setups and it typically has better performance in real-world scenarios, plus you’ll avoid potential compatibility issues.

Definitely go for 6000MHz with lower latency. The 7200MHz speed doesn’t always translate to better performance, especially with your current setup. The memory controller on the CPU can't keep up with those speeds, which can lead to bottlenecks.

Just to clarify, your performance issues might not be directly related to RAM. You should definitely double-check that you're using the right drivers. If you haven't done a complete clean install from a USB stick, that could be your issue too! Clearing the CMOS could help as well before going for new hardware.

Yeah, I used the built-in reset tool, so I might try a clean install from USB. I've cleared the CMOS, but I’ll recheck everything after that.
