I'm currently running an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 and Radeon RX 5700, both are from 2019 and I'm using a Tomahawk B450 motherboard. I'm considering upgrading to a Ryzen 5 9600X for around $200 and a Radeon RX 7700 XT for about $399. Are these upgrades a good deal, or are there better options available?

Regarding the RX 7700 XT, it's priced too high at $400 right now. You might find the 9060 XT 16 GB for less, and it offers better ray tracing performance along with support for FSR 4. Definitely worth looking into alternatives before making a purchase.
The Ryzen 5 9600X actually requires a new motherboard and DDR5 memory since it uses the AM5 socket. That could increase your total upgrade cost to about $550 for the CPU, motherboard, and RAM kit. If that's too steep, you might want to consider the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, which is a strong option for the AM4 platform.
