I'm considering upgrading my CPU from the Ryzen 5 5600G to the Ryzen 7 5700X3D. Do you think it's worth it? My goal is to achieve a stable 240 fps in games like CS2 and Fortnite, and I'm currently using an RTX 3070. Any advice?

The 5700X3D is totally worth it, as long as you do a BIOS update. Just be aware that prices are all over the place right now. If you can find it for a good deal, it’s a solid upgrade from the 5600G.

I updated my BIOS a few months ago. Is it recent enough or should I check for another update?

The Ryzen 5 5600X can also hit those frame rates in CS2 and Fortnite. If you can find the 5700X3D for a fair price, definitely buy it, but don't feel pressured if you can't find a great deal.

True, 5600X is better than the 5600G, but I really want the best CPU for AM4 that can guarantee 240 fps.

Upgrading is definitely worth it if you can find the 5700X3D for a reasonable price. These CPUs are starting to be hard to find since they're out of production, so prices might be a bit high. Still, if you can snag it for around $300, go for it!

370€ is a bit steep, but I'm mainly after that 240 fps in CS2 and Fortnite.

Absolutely, the 5700X3D can help you reach those stable frame rates. I've been able to pull over 240 fps on Fortnite using a similar setup. If the X3D is too pricey, consider the regular 5700X as a good alternative. Check out some YouTube videos to see their performance!

Yeah, I saw one hitting 300 fps! I just want to see if anyone’s had actual experience with it because I really want it, but 370€ is a lot.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it at the $379 price I've seen around here. The regular 5700X is a great option if you can get it for around $250. You'll still be able to achieve what you want for a better price.

I'm really just aiming for a solid 240 fps and don't want to jump to AM5 yet.
