Is upgrading to the 9800X3D a good choice from the 10700K for gaming?

I'm considering upgrading my CPU from an Intel 10700K to an AMD 9800X3D and I'm curious if it's worth it for gaming. I generally play at 1440p and occasionally at 4K, using a 5080 GPU. Would the upgrade make a noticeable difference in performance, or should I hold off for a while? Appreciate any insights!

That bundle really is a steal! If you can snag it, you won't regret it. You get a great CPU for gaming and a solid setup.

Absolutely agree! I found a good deal on similar components back in February, and it felt like a smart investment at the time.

Just do it! The performance boost is definitely noticeable, especially if you're into CPU-heavy games. Plus, if that bundle is available at a good price, it’s a solid deal.

Unless you're hitting a CPU bottleneck, you might not see huge gains. If your games run fine now, maybe it's not worth the switch just for the sake of it.

I upgraded from a 10900K to the 9800X3D and couldn't be happier! Although I did have to cut my RAM from 64 GB to 32 GB due to costs, the performance has been outstanding for CPU-intensive games!

If your GPU isn’t maxing out, you might be missing out on performance. With 4K gaming, it's good to have a better CPU for smoother 1% lows. That bundle seems overpriced if you already have a case and cooler; I'd suggest looking for just the CPU with 32 GB of RAM instead.

Honestly, it varies by game, but generally speaking, you should see an uplift in performance. However, be cautious with that bundle; it's a bit overpriced with parts you may not need, like a new case or water cooler. A basic version of the 9800X3D might serve you better without those extras.

With RAM prices being what they are, I’d think twice before upgrading unless you really need a top-tier setup. If you're okay with spending more on RAM, then maybe it's worth it.
