Is Upgrading to the RX 9070 XT Worth It?

I'm 15 and looking to upgrade my GPU from an RTX 3050. I'm considering either the RX 9060 or the RX 9070 XT. Since I don't have a lot of money, I'm wondering if it's worth stretching my budget for the 9070 XT for future-proofing, or if the 9060 would be a better value. I primarily game on a 1440p monitor, but I'm uncertain how much of a performance difference there is between the two cards.

Going with the RX 9070 XT will definitely be a good investment in the long run. It handles heavy games at higher details much better than the 9060. If you're planning to play demanding titles, it's worth it.

It also depends on your CPU. My kids have Ryzen 5900X and RX 9060 XT setups and they do just fine at 1080p for FPS games. But if you’re planning to upgrade to a Ryzen 7800X3D, then investing in the 9070 XT might make more sense for future gaming.

Yeah, I currently have a Ryzen 5500, but I'm aiming to upgrade to the 7800X3D.

Don't stress too much about future-proofing with the 9070 XT unless you really need the absolute best performance. The 9060 XT is a solid choice for most games, and you can still get great experiences with slightly lower settings.

What games are you typically playing? That might help narrow down your choice. The 9060 XT can still deliver solid performance for most games, especially at 1440p if you're okay with lowering some settings.

I play games like DayZ, Phasmophobia, Rust, Fortnite, Sons of the Forest, and Granny.
