Is Using 4 DDR4 Sticks Safe for My PC?

Hey everyone! I'm currently using 16GB of DDR4 RAM (2x8GB) running at 3200MHz, and I'm looking to bump it up to 32GB. Given the high RAM prices currently, I'm thinking about just adding another matching kit (another 2x8GB) instead of replacing my existing setup with a single 2x16GB kit.

Is it generally safe and stable to run 4 sticks of DDR4? Are there any potential downsides I should be aware of? To give you more context, here are my PC specs:

- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600
- Motherboard: Asus TUF B450 Plus Gaming
- GPU: Galax GeForce RTX 3070 (1-click OC)
- RAM: PNY XLR8 Gaming EPIC-X RGB 12GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz
- SSD: 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD
- PSU: Deepcool PK650D 650W 80+ Bronze
- CPU Cooler: ID Cooling FROZN A410
- Case: WJCoolman Hexa ATX
- Case Fans: 4x Keytech Tornado 120mm fans

The new RAM sticks I'm considering are also PNY XL48 2x8GB 3200MHz DDR4. I'd appreciate any insights or experiences you have. Thanks!

It's safe to use 4 sticks. Just remember, they'll run at the speed of the slowest stick in your setup. If they're all rated for 3200MHz, you should be golden, but check the BIOS settings to confirm the config!

if they're all 3200mhz, does that mean I can run them at that speed if I set it up in BIOS?

Absolutely! DDR4 is generally good for 4 sticks. Just don't be surprised if it doesn't run at its full speed due to potential compatibility issues, but it's definitely worth a shot!

Sure, it can work with 4 sticks, but you might need to tweak some settings in the BIOS to ensure stability. Different RAM sticks can have varying sub-timings, so keep that in mind when mixing them.
