I just ran a Windows Defender scan, and it flagged a file at C:WINDOWSsystem32DriversWinRing0x64.sys as a Trojan. I'm confused because it seems to be a standard driver in Windows. Has anyone dealt with this before? What's the deal with this file?

If Windows Defender is flagging it, that’s a red flag. Sometimes malware uses names similar to legitimate Windows files to trick users. To check, right-click the file, go to properties, and see if it has a digital signature from Microsoft. If it doesn’t, it’s probably malware.
I checked and found it has no signature, but some sites say it’s not malware, just risky. Apparently, it’s linked to fan control software that might still be running.
