Hey everyone! I'm facing a frustrating issue while trying to install the latest 64-bit version of Acrobat Standard/Pro on systems that already have Adobe Reader (version 25.001.20577, 32-bit) installed. Whenever I attempt to run the installation—whether using the default setup or the customization wizard—I encounter an error message. The log file isn't much help either.
The installation process yields two results: sometimes it does nothing and leaves Adobe Reader intact, and other times it uninstalls Reader in favor of Acrobat, but fails with an error still. In the latter case, Acrobat opens and works, but I still face errors, and re-running the setup occasionally succeeds.
I've tried it on brand new computers as well, installing Reader from the Adobe website and then Acrobat from the same. The installation still fails with similar log messages. I can't seem to find the root cause of the problem, so any guidance would be appreciated!

Have you checked whether the PCs are running a 32-bit or 64-bit OS? If you're using an installation tool, try downloading the public version directly and see if that helps. Also, make sure you're running the installer as an administrator. Are you installing the enterprise version when customizing?
I had a similar issue a few years back. I ended up removing Adobe Acrobat Reader completely and just installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 64-bit for everyone. Just make sure to deploy those two registry keys to bypass the sign-in requirement. This way, it can function like Adobe Reader, and anyone with a license can still log in for advanced features.
