I'm facing a problem with my Nvidia installation. I have both a GTX 1060 and an RTX 4080 on my system, but I can't get the Nvidia App to install anymore. It gives me this error code 0xE6000000. I'm guessing this might be because the GTX 1060 isn't getting Game-Ready updates anymore—only security updates. I've already tried clean uninstalls, reinstalls, and restarts.
Could anyone help me out with a couple of questions? First, is there a way to fix this issue, or is it just a glitch that I'm stuck with? Second, if I'm not using the overlay or anything else, does the Nvidia App have any real benefits for me beyond driver updates?
Thanks a lot in advance! I'd like to avoid removing any of my cards unless it's absolutely necessary.

The Nvidia App does a lot more than just the overlay. For instance, it allows you to choose which DLSS version to use in games without updates, adjust internal resolutions for DLSS presets, and enable DLAA in games that don’t support it. It can also manage HDR settings in games not built for it and improve frame rates with better V-sync. Many of these features can also be accessed through Nvidia Profile Inspector, though.
If you're having issues, try uninstalling all Nvidia software completely. Then, update your drivers directly from the manufacturer's site. Make sure to end any Nvidia processes in Task Manager, reboot your system, and then try reinstalling.
I’ve already done that, unfortunately. Didn’t solve the problem!
Honestly, you could probably get by without the Nvidia App. A lot of users find they don't need it for basic gaming. Just make sure your drivers are up to date manually when needed!
That's what I was thinking too! Just wanted confirmation. Thanks for that!
True, but the app does come with some useful features, so it depends on your needs.

Got it! Seems like it has its perks after all.
