Issues with AppleCare Warranty for International iPhone Repair

I purchased an iPhone 16 Pro in Canada last year and added AppleCare. While I was traveling in China, I accidentally damaged the phone and had it replaced there. They gave me a different variant that doesn't have the AI features, but they assured me that the warranty would still apply. Now, I'm facing a problem because I need to fix the back glass after another drop, but all the Apple Stores and support in Canada are telling me they can't service this phone. Has anyone else experienced something similar? What should I do now that it seems like Apple has no repair options for me?

I had a similar situation with my iPhone here in the U.S. under AppleCare. When my back glass broke, they initially offered an exchange, but I insisted on a repair instead, and they did it. So don't be afraid to demand the repair!

It's weird that they replaced your whole phone instead of just fixing it. Modular repairs have been common on the iPhone 12 and later, so I wonder what exactly happened that made them go for a full unit replacement in your case.

In Canada, they can indeed fix the back glass. Sometimes stores hesitate because if something goes wrong and they need to replace the phone, the two SIM slots can complicate things for them. You might want to push back a bit on this!
