Hey everyone, I'm managing the IT for a motorcycle shop with around 20 staff. While half of them aren't too involved with IT, those who interact with customers rely heavily on several Brother printers. The main one we use is a DCP-L6600DW, which is shared among multiple employees. Recently, I upgraded to Windows Server 2025, and the performance has improved significantly for our main program due to better database operations via Remote Desktop Connection (RDC). However, we're having persistent issues with the L6600DW printer throwing random errors almost daily. My current fix is to restart the spooler as an admin, but it seems illogical since the data is transferred without a hitch, yet the printing doesn't start. I've observed that these errors often pop up when one user sends multiple documents in quick succession, which is quite common. Additionally, I could only install the standard driver from the German site since the "Complete Driver and Software package" isn't available for Windows Server 2025. All printers are Ethernet-connected, not USB. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this issue because I'm really stumped!

I have a couple of ideas that might work. First, consider connecting the printer locally and letting the Remote Desktop Services (RDS) recognize local printers. If multiple users need to access it, you can still set it up as an IP printer. Second, using Class 4 drivers could help—these are pretty basic, but they’re often reliable without any frills. I've found that this approach has resolved similar issues in my past experiences.
It sounds like your issues might be tied to the specific error messages you're getting. Have you checked what the error indicates when you have to restart the print spooler? Also, which driver did you install for the L6600DW on the server? That info might help narrow down the problem.

Thanks for the suggestions! The first option won’t work here due to how our main program operates with local printers. But I’ll definitely give the Class 4 drivers a shot next time I’m at the office.
