I've been having a frustrating issue on my Windows 10 computer. I can't open text (.txt) files, Word documents, or photos by dragging them or using the right-click menu. The strange part is that I can still play videos without any issues. I've tried restarting my PC, running various command prompt repairs, and even reinstalling Notepad and the Photos app, but nothing seems to help. It's really driving me crazy! Anyone have any advice?

Another possibility is that your user profile might be corrupted. You could create a new user account and see if the problem persists when logging in with that account. It’s a hassle, but if it solves the issue, it might be worth it.
Sometimes app settings can get a bit messed up. Have you tried running the apps in compatibility mode? Right-click on the app’s shortcut, go to 'Properties', then the 'Compatibility' tab. Try running it as if it’s in an older version of Windows – sometimes that can fix quirky issues!
It sounds like your issue might be related to system resource usage. You mentioned that your CPU usage is normal, but can you check if the drives are almost full? If a drive is at 90-100% usage, it can cause these kinds of problems with opening or interacting with files. Also, make sure that your Windows updates are all current, as sometimes system bugs like these can be fixed with updates.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll check the drive usage and see if there are any pending updates.
