Issues with iCloud Data Syncing on New iPhone

I just got my new iPhone 17 Pro Max after selling my old 16 Pro Max. Everything went smoothly during the setup—I logged in to iCloud and chose to restore my backup. But once I reached the home screen, I saw a message saying, **"Some iCloud data isn't syncing."** It said that certain end-to-end encrypted data, like saved passwords and Health data, can't be accessed, and I need to verify my account info to get syncing back on track.

There's a button to "Resume Data Sync," but when I tapped it, another error popped up saying, **"Couldn't Sync iCloud Data."** It mentioned that to keep using iCloud for my encrypted data, I'd need to delete everything currently stored in iCloud. I really don't want to lose my iMessage history, passkeys, and other critical info.

I've already tried a few things:
- Signing out of iCloud and back in
- Resetting my phone and going through the setup again
- Changing my iCloud password
- Checking my iCloud storage (I'm at 300GB of my 2TB plan)

Anyone got any advice on how to fix this without losing my data?

Have you checked if advanced data protection was turned on for your old phone before selling it? If it was enabled, it might be causing the sync issues on your new device. You usually need to have the old device to manage those settings, but it’s worth looking into.

I can't remember if it was turned on or not, and since I've sold the phone, I can't really check it now.
