Issues with New RTX 5070 Installation – Need Help!

Hey everyone! I'm having some trouble with my new build after adding an RTX 5070 GPU. Everything was running smoothly until I installed the graphics card, but now my PC is incredibly slow and not performing well at all. I've tried troubleshooting to the best of my ability, but nothing seems to be working. I attempted to download the latest drivers, but that didn't work either—it just failed. Also, I think Windows isn't detecting my GPU since it doesn't show up in Task Manager. I can't even set my monitor to 240Hz. I'd really appreciate any help with this! Here are my core components:

- Intel Core 17-14700KF Desktop Processor
- MSI PRO H610M Motherboard
- TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan Z 16GB DDR4 RAM (2x8GB, 3200MHz)
- ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 5070 12GB Graphics Card
- Thermaltake Toughpower GT 850W Power Supply (80+ Gold)

For what it's worth, my spare GTX 1080 worked perfectly and gave me 240+ frames.

Have you tried using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)? If not, that’s a good place to start. After you run DDU, download the latest Nvidia driver and see if that does the trick. If everything still fails, it might be worth doing a fresh install of your OS.

+1 to the DDU suggestion!

First off, make sure the GPU is seated properly in the PCIe slot and that all cables are securely connected to both the GPU and PSU. Have you updated your motherboard’s BIOS? That can be critical for compatibility with newer GPUs. Also, try scanning for hardware changes in Device Manager; sometimes that prompts Windows to detect the GPU. Good luck!

Check if your display cable is correctly plugged into your GPU and not the motherboard. Sometimes that can be an easy fix. Also, I recommend using DDU to fully clean your drivers before reinstalling them. It really helps after switching GPUs!

I had the same issue! Double-check which port your monitor is connected to.
