I've been having some strange issues with my ChatGPT where it's refusing to save any memories. Even though it shows "memory updated" indicating that the text has been saved, I can't actually find these memories. I've cleared out my memory to create space, and interestingly, the same action works fine on my free account, but my Plus account seems to have problems. Could there be some sort of restriction on my account that's preventing memories from being saved?

This sounds like a glitch to me! I had the same issue. What worked for me was copying the memory I wanted to save, starting a new chat, and then asking it to update in that new chat. It might just need a fresh context to save properly.
I had this problem for a couple of days! No clue why it started or what fixed it, but it eventually just began working again. Super frustrating in the meantime, though!
Yeah, it's like waiting for it to resolve itself randomly. I feel you!
Honestly, I think it’s just a bug. Since ChatGPT became a bit more stable, my memory issues have improved, so I guess we’ll see if they iron out these weirdnesses with time.
Have you tried using a different browser? Sometimes switching can help because maybe there’s a caching issue or something preventing the memories from saving correctly. Give it a shot and see if that changes anything!
It feels like the system announces it's doing things that aren’t actually happening. Like when you ask for an image and it says it's generating it, only to tell you it can't due to guidelines. I'm starting to think it just gets stuck sometimes.
Right? It messes with your expectations. You’d think an update would mean something is actually being saved!
That's good to know! I've been having trouble with older chats too. You think it would still save the memory correctly in a new chat?
