I'm having a frustrating issue with my brand new MSI Pro x870-p motherboard. I've connected my keyboard, mouse, and headset to the USB 2.0 ports, but frequently get a message saying "not enough USB controller resources," and my audio cuts out. While my headset works if I switch to the USB 5G port, I'm concerned about the malfunctioning 2.0 ports. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this? Here are my specs: Radeon 9070, 16GB R7 7800x3d, 32GB DDR5, and a 1000W PSU.

Be cautious with internal USB headers, as they can get damaged if not handled properly. If you’re unsure about working inside the case, I recommend checking out a few tutorial videos first. It’s usually simple, but mistakes can lead to bigger issues in your system.
It looks like your motherboard’s USB ports might be overloading. According to your manual, the back panel USB ports (excluding the 40G USB-C) are all tied to the CPU, while internal headers connect to the X870 chipset. If you have multiple devices plugged in, it might help to spread them between ports or see if there's a way to balance it out. Also, remember that high-spec headsets can consume more bandwidth. Trying different ports might alleviate the issue!
If you haven't already, you might want to reinstall your USB host controllers via device manager. That could help refresh the connections!
Make sure your headset isn’t drawing more power than the USB 2.0 ports can handle, especially if you’ve got other devices plugged in. It’s a good idea to keep the load balanced across different ports to prevent cutting out.
Thanks for the tip! I realized I could have checked the manual better. I switched my headset to the blue port and it's working fine. Just worried about those 2.0 ports now.
