Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my Asus G615LM-BS66-CB laptop. The screen just won't turn on, and I'm at a loss whether it's a hardware issue or something else. Here's what I know: the laptop powers on (even without being plugged in), the keyboard lights up, and I can change the brightness. I can hear a faint noise when I put my ear close to it, and when I plug it in, both the power and keyboard lights indicate that it's charging. However, I tried rebooting multiple times, and I've only heard the startup sound twice. I even connected it to my TV as a second monitor, but no luck. When I don't interact with it for a while, the power button blinks red and the keyboard lighting changes from rainbow to a red flash pattern. I've had the laptop for just a few months, and it suddenly stopped working while I was playing a game. I noticed some stuttering before it froze and went black. I haven't dropped it or replaced any parts. I did some Googling, and some results say it might be a battery issue, but since it powers up, I'm confused. Any advice on where to start with diagnosing this would really help!

It sounds like it could be a backlight failure if you can't see anything on the screen with a strong light aimed at it. If you can’t see anything when you shine a light on the display, then it might not be a software issue at all. If you're still under warranty, definitely reach out to your seller or the manufacturer for repair options.

Thanks for the tip! I didn't see anything with the flashlight, so I think I'll contact Best Buy for help if I can't fix it myself after draining the battery.
