I'm interested in hearing experiences from anyone who's not using Azure Backup and is instead opting for a third-party solution to back up virtual machines, Azure storage accounts, or Azure SQL databases. How does your chosen backup solution operate, and do you find it to be cost-effective compared to Azure Backup?

If budget isn’t a major concern, Commvault is definitely worth considering. I think their cloud storage uses Azure, but the overall backup solution is quite robust.
Just a heads up, some third-party backup solutions still utilize Azure Backup under the hood, meaning your backups could still be going to Azure. Make sure to check the specifics of your solution to avoid surprises.
We back up our Azure DevOps with GitProtect.io, which also supports Jira. It’s flexible in terms of restore options, and you can either build your own backup plan or use predefined ones that you can schedule. The best part is you'll have access to data even if Azure DevOps goes down.
We're using Veeam for our Azure backups, which has worked great for us. It’s mainly just a managed blob storage, and setting up backup policies is super straightforward. The best part is that you only pay for the storage space you use, and you don’t have to worry about managing any software or virtual machines. With all the IT bloat, it’s nice to simplify this part of our operations.
We've chosen Druva through Dell. The cool thing is that Dell takes care of the egress fees for us. Their setup replicates data across three zones and operates using AWS S3 behind the scenes, which provides extra peace of mind.
