Hey everyone! I'm currently using an AMD 3400G, and I've just noticed it's bottlenecking my RTX 3080. I'm looking to upgrade my CPU without breaking the bank since I can't afford an x3D model. I've been eyeing the 5800X, but I've come across mixed reviews; some say it's just a slightly improved version of the 5700X, which may also be outdated. What would be the best bang for my buck in the $100-$150 range? I'm also planning to upgrade my RAM to 32GB with a 2x8 setup. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, the difference between the 5700X, 5800X, and 5800XT really comes down to a few MHz. If you're gaming, it won't make much of a difference because you'll be GPU limited anyway. Grab the one that's cheapest!
If budget is really tight, the used 5600X could be a strong contender. It’s an excellent CPU for the price and would certainly give your 3080 breathing room.
Consider looking for used options like the 5700X3D or 5800X3D if you can find them within budget. If they’re too pricey, I suggest saving a bit more to get one because they really are the best AM4 CPUs for gaming right now.
Both the 5700X and the 5800X are solid options and offer great value compared to the x3D models you mentioned. Either would be a nice upgrade for your 3400G without costing too much. Just see which one you can get for the best price!
I'd go with the 5800X if you can swing it; it generally provides better performance for gaming than the 5700X.
