I'm trying to find a device that lets me write on a pad and have it display on my computer screen, similar to how an iPad works with a stylus. I tutor math over Zoom and currently struggle using my mouse for drawing or diagrams. I'd love to have a separate device that can achieve this functionality without the need for an iPad. I've seen something like this before but can't recall its name. Also, if anyone has suggestions on brands, that would be super helpful. Thanks!

If you're looking for something that connects to your computer, a basic graphics tablet might be the way to go. Wacom models are really nice but could be overkill if you just need basic functionality. There's also the ReMarkable tablet, which is a digital writing pad. However, it might not work like a whiteboard for Zoom, and it's pricier, similar to an iPad.
Are you thinking about a Wacom tablet? They’re quite popular for drawing and graphics. It doesn't have a screen, so keep in mind that it might take some getting used to, but lots of people use them successfully for teaching and creating art. You definitely should check it out!
Honestly, you could use any tablet for this purpose. Just make sure it can connect to your computer. If you get a regular tablet, you should be able to draw on it and have it show on your laptop's Zoom screen. Just something to think about!
Thanks for the tip! I remember seeing a drawing pad that looked like a trackpad but used a pen. I’m still curious about the best way to go about this, but I'll definitely explore these options more.

Wow, yeah I think that's it! I was confused about how people manage without seeing what they're drawing, but I’ll look into it more. Thanks a lot!
