Looking for a New CPU to Pair with My 3080 Ti for 1440p Gaming

Hey everyone! I haven't gamed in a while, but with new releases like GTA and BF6 coming up, I'm eager to jump back in. My current CPU is a 9600K running at 5GHz, and I think it's time for an upgrade. I don't really know much about CPUs, motherboards, or RAM, though. I've been eyeing the Intel 14700K, thinking it might be good for future upgrades, especially if I decide to get a new GPU later on. I'm looking to spend around $1,000 total. Any recommendations for a CPU, motherboard, and RAM?

I’d recommend looking into the Ryzen 7600X or the 9600X. They should handle gaming really well. Honestly, I’d steer clear of Intel for gaming these days, especially the 14th gen—those chips can draw a lot of power and generate heat, plus some of them have had reliability issues. The LGA 1700 platform will be outdated soon, so you won't find much future proofing there. The AM5 platform is more current and gives you a better upgrade path going forward.

Thanks for the tip! Is there another AMD option that might be a better fit but also worth the extra cost? It’s about $100 cheaper than the 14700K.
