Looking for a Quiet GPU with GTX 1080 TI Performance

I'm currently dealing with a super loud graphics card that makes it almost impossible to hear anything while gaming, even with the side panel closed. I'm on the hunt for an air-cooled GPU that can deliver performance comparable to a GTX 1080 TI but is also really quiet. My budget is around $300.

Have you thought about getting an older hybrid card? They are super quiet and generally can be found for around your budget, plus they often come with improved performance.

Before you consider buying a new GPU, what's your current card? It may be worth it to just replace the thermal paste and pads on your existing one. They can dry out over time, causing the fans to work harder and make more noise. It could save you some money!

Exactly! If it's an older card, a simple maintenance like that might help a lot. Overheating often leads to noisy fans.

If you're considering options, the RTX 4060 is quiet too! It consumes only 115W and performs similarly to the RTX 5050, which uses 130W.

You might want to check out the entry-level RTX 5050. It's actually a bit faster than the GTX 1080 TI and should run quieter, fitting nicely in your budget of about $260.

The RTX 4060 also matches the performance and uses 15W less power.

Just keep in mind, it has 8GB of VRAM instead of 11GB, so it really depends on your needs.

Also, have you tried using fan control software? You can tweak the fan settings to run lower if your temperatures allow for it.
