Looking for a Reliable Replacement for My Asrock Motherboard with AMD 9800X3D

I recently faced a frustrating situation where my AMD 9800X3D fried while using an Asrock B850 Steel Legend WiFi motherboard. I didn't research enough beforehand, and now I'm concerned about getting a replacement motherboard. Asrock support suggested I could update the BIOS to the latest version, but I've seen reports that even BIOS 3.5 hasn't solved similar issues. I need advice on finding a new motherboard that fits my setup and doesn't risk another failure. Here are my current specs:

- CPU: AMD 9800X3D
- RAM: Kingston Fury DDR5 2x16GB CL30 6000MT/s
- GPU: Asrock Steel Legend RX 9070 XT
- M.2: WD Black SN850X 2TB

I'm paranoid about my next choice, so what should I keep in mind when selecting a replacement? I prefer a white build, and I initially ordered an Asus ROG STRIX B850 A GAMING WiFi, but it's not available locally until January 26th. So far I've been looking for an ATX board with:
- RAM speed of 6000 (without overclocking)
- PCI-e Gen 5
- M.2 socket with Gen 4
- WiFi 7
- 2.5 GB Ethernet
- Bluetooth

Am I going overboard with these specs, or are there other important features I should consider?

Man, that’s a bummer about your Asrock board! I was considering one too for my build because it looks sleek and is priced well. It’s a shame they haven’t nailed down their reliability. I’d suggest going for something like the Gigabyte Aorus Elite B650; I’ve heard good things about it. Just steer clear of the bottom-tier ASUS boards—those have a history of poor VRM. As long as you avoid total junk, any of the mid-range options from MSI, ASUS, or Gigabyte should serve you well!

When you're looking at RAM, anything above 4800MHz is considered overclocking these days based on official specs, so keep in mind you might be pushing it if you want to run at 6000 without OC. If you’re only using two sticks, it might work out fine, but double-check the compatibility with the motherboard you choose!
