Looking for a solid GPU for 1080p gaming in 2025

Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my GPU since I tried running Oblivion Remastered recently, and it didn't go well. My current setup has an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti (built this PC pre-Covid) along with a new AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D processor and 32GB of RAM.

Here's what I'm working with:
- My budget is around $600 CAD.
- I'm only focused on 1080p gaming, not 4K.
- I'd be happy with around 90 fps.
- Ray tracing would be a cool bonus, but I really want smooth gameplay above all.
- I'm also curious about future-proofing options with my budget.

I think I'd prefer something with over 8GB of memory if that's ideal? I haven't upgraded my PC much since building it, so this whole GPU research is pretty overwhelming! Any recommendations would be super helpful!

You might want to consider the RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB. It’s a bit overpriced for what you get but should fit your budget and performance needs. Alternatively, the RX 7700 XT is also a good choice and might deliver better value for your buck.

Thanks for the tips! Just to clarify, I've heard Nvidia is generally regarded as 'better' than AMD. Is that still true?
