Looking for a Stable GNOME Distro for NVIDIA PCs

Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for a stable and reliable GNOME distro that works smoothly with my NVIDIA setup. I've tested quite a few options recently, but most have been pretty buggy. For example, Ubuntu had a setup glitch and wouldn't even recognize my disks with the latest version, plus I'm really not fond of Snap. Fedora felt like the one for me, but I hit a wall during setup with an error about get_url_handler, even after trying safe graphics mode. ZorinOS is decent since it's built on Ubuntu, but their update cycle feels sluggish. Distros like Bazzite and Solas wouldn't boot at all, while VanillaOS works but has some peculiar features I could do without. PopOS? Not a fan of the aesthetics. Debian? Definitely not for beginners. Right now, I'm using Linux Mint, which is great apart from its outdated UI. I've heard mixed things about using Ventoy with certain distros—any suggestions for making Fedora work would be awesome!

If Pop!_OS works for you, you could always just switch the desktop environment to GNOME. It's a quick fix and lets you keep the stability of Pop!_OS. Have you thought about that?

I suggest looking into openSUSE Leap as well, but keep in mind that setting up NVIDIA drivers can be a bit tricky. Also, instead of Bazzite, check out Bluefin or Bluefin LTS; they focus more on GNOME and might suit you better. Good luck!

Have you tried openSUSE Tumbleweed with GNOME? I've been using it for a while now without any issues. I know you were hoping for Fedora, but honestly, openSUSE is a solid choice, and I was impressed with Fedora too when I tested it recently. Might be worth giving it a shot!

I get that Debian can seem intimidating, but it’s actually pretty user-friendly once you get into it. Just remember, it's all about the community support. If you're stuck, there's usually someone who can help. I'd recommend giving it a try even if you've had some bad experiences in the past!

Gentoo might be what you need! It requires some effort but gives you total control over everything, from installation to customization. If you’re willing to put in the time, it could be a great option for you!

Sure, but Gentoo seems like a leap from Debian! It’s a bit wild to recommend that to someone who finds Debian tricky. Just saying!
