Hey everyone! I'm trying to help out my not-so-tech-savvy relative by building a budget PC. They're going to use it mainly for tax software and web surfing. The current setup is over 10 years old and still works fine for what they need, so I want to keep costs low with my build to ensure it'll last another decade.
The main issue is that they have an older triple monitor setup that doesn't support daisy chaining and uses VGA connectors, so I really need a graphics card with three HDMI ports. I found a budget option - the Intel Arc A380 - at Microcenter, but I'm hesitant since I've never used an Intel GPU before. I'm worried about driver stability and long-term support. I've also seen some cheaper refurbished options on Newegg, but I'm unsure about trusting those and their longevity. Any recommendations or experiences would be extremely helpful!

If you’re set on building, I think the Intel A380 would work fine for what she needs. Just make sure to download Intel Arc Control to keep the drivers updated easily, similar to how you’d do it with Nvidia or AMD.
Honestly, I wouldn't bother with something new. You can probably find a decent used card for under $70 that would work perfectly for her needs.
Have you thought about just using the integrated graphics from the CPU? They might be sufficient for the tasks your relative needs to do, and it could save you some money on the build.
I would need a motherboard with three HDMI ports, and those are quite pricey!

That makes sense, but I'm just concerned about how much longer a used card would last.
