Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for a new PSU because I've been advised that my current one isn't the best. Here's what I'm working with:
**Current PSU:** LUX AEROCOOL 850W 80+
**PC Specs:**
- **Processor:** Ryzen 5 5600X
- **GPU:** RTX 3060
- **RAM:** 2 x 8GB CORSAIR
- **Storage:** 1TB SSD
I have a budget of around £35 but I'm okay with going up to £45-50 if needed. I've been looking at options on Vinted and eBay, and I'm located in the UK.
Some friends mentioned that 850W might be overkill, so I'm considering a range of 600-850W. Is my current PSU alright, or should I definitely replace it? I just got this PC three days ago, so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Honestly, your current PSU has a pretty bad reputation (like, tier F kind of bad). I'd recommend saving up a bit more, maybe around £60-80, and looking for a reliable brand like Corsair or MSI. You really want something from a name you can trust to keep your system safe.
As long as your PC is stable, you're probably fine. Just remember, that 850W rating is maximum; your system will only use what it needs. If you find a decent second-hand PSU from brands like Corsair, Seasonic, or Be Quiet, it'd be worth checking out. But if your system's stable, no need to panic!
It's not the best PSU, but for your setup with the Ryzen 5 5600X and RTX 3060, you're generally safe with an 850W. The load on it won't be that high. If you later decide to upgrade to a high-power GPU or CPU, then yeah, consider changing it out. But right now, if everything runs smoothly, I wouldn't stress too much about it.
How can I check if it's stable?
