Looking for Advice on My First PC Build

I'm planning to build my first PC and could really use some advice on the hardware since I'm not too familiar with components. Here's what I'm thinking for my build:

**Motherboard**: B450M DS3H (rev. 1.x)
**CPU**: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
**GPU**: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050
**Memory**: 8GB 2400MHz
**PSU**: Corsair VS550 (but I'll upgrade it later)

I'm aware that this setup isn't the best; it's mainly for basic gaming and schoolwork. Also, since it's my first time putting everything together, I'd like to know if there are any important software tweaks I should consider. Any help would be much appreciated!

Honestly, the RTX 3050 isn’t the best option, especially with just 8GB of memory. If you can swing it, consider going for an RX 6600 instead; you'll likely find it cheaper and get better performance. And swap the Ryzen 2600 for a 5600 if possible—it’s worth it! Also, aim for at least 16GB of RAM with dual-channel 3600MHz sticks for better performance overall.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely look into better options for the CPU and RAM. Right now, this is what’s available to me, but it's good to know!

If you’re in the Philippines, that price range can be tricky. Don't bother with a 30 series card; consider lower 40 or 50 options for better value unless you plan on serious gaming, which I assume you don't. Your current setup might need a bit of tweaking to get it just right for what you need!

I see your point; 40 series is beyond my budget, and I’m not diving into high-end gaming just yet. Appreciate the straightforward advice!

With a budget of $220, it’s tough to make a solid build. What’s the age of your current computer? You might want to consider some alternatives:
1. Look for a refurbished model around the 7th generation Intel.
2. If your current setup isn’t too old, adding an SSD and a decent graphics card like the RX 6600 could be a solid upgrade.
3. If you can wait, gather more budget for a build with integrated graphics and a B550 motherboard for future upgrades.

What’s your budget looking like? A lot of the components you've mentioned are kind of outdated. If you already have these parts on hand, that’s one thing, but if you're buying new, you might want to rethink your choices for better performance.

I know, right? But it’s really all I can afford at the moment. My current PC is practically ancient; I need something that will at least run my school applications.
