Hey everyone! I'm currently using a 6900 XT GPU, Ryzen 5 5600X CPU, and an Aorus Elite V2 motherboard. While I primarily play CS2, I'm experiencing quite a few FPS drops, which are making my gameplay inconsistent. I realize that my GPU is quite powerful, and it seems like my CPU is bottlenecking the system. I'm considering upgrading my processor — which one would you suggest to help me achieve a consistent FPS range of 350-400 in CS2?

Honestly, within a reasonable budget, it might be tough to find a meaningful CPU upgrade for your setup right now. Just keep that in mind before making a move.
I doubt the CPU is really the problem here. Usually, your CPU and GPU should work well together, so something else might be the culprit for those FPS issues. You should check your other components, too!
You might want to check your RAM or even your cooling solution. Those can impact performance, too!
Before you jump into an upgrade, make sure you're running CS2 with Vulkan. It's really important for AMD GPUs. If you're aiming for 350-400 FPS consistently, you’ll likely need an AM5 CPU or an AM4 X3D, though those can be pricey. Just a thought!
Do you really need 400 FPS? I’d suggest just tweaking your graphics settings instead. Your CPU and GPU are solid, but if it's inconsistent, something you're running could be struggling. If you're considering a CPU upgrade, the 5700X3D or 5800X3D might be your best bet, but be ready to spend around $500 — or save up for AM5 if you're serious about an upgrade. Overall, you've got a great build!
