I'm considering an upgrade for my gaming PC and need some advice. Currently, I have a Ryzen 7 3800XT, an NVIDIA 3060 Ti, 16GB of Corsair Dominator RAM, and a B550 Mortar motherboard. I'm thinking about moving to AM5 and want to get the best CPU and GPU I can for around $1500. My goal is to have the smoothest gaming experience possible, as I find my current setup isn't cutting it. If anyone has recommendations for a good AM5 motherboard and high-performance components, I would really appreciate your insights!

I recently switched from an RTX 3080 to a 5070, and the improvement was massive! The 5070 cost around $800, and I could trade in my old GPU for a nice discount. With an Asus TUF gaming Z790 motherboard and an i9 14,900 chip along with 64GB of DDR5 RAM, I spent about $1,600 total. Gaming at 1440p with 165Hz was a breeze—smooth and responsive! You should definitely look for something similar in the AMD lineup; there are powerful options out there!

If you're sticking with AM4, consider getting the 5800X3D and adding more RAM along with a better GPU. But remember, if you're upgrading the CPU and RAM, it might be worth it to switch to a new motherboard as well. The 7600X is a strong choice that performs well against the 5700X3D. Food for thought!

Good point! I hadn't thought about the motherboard upgrade; I guess it makes sense to do it all at once.
