I've run into a major issue recently. Our company has 380 licenses of Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 that we bought outright, but we just received an email stating that support ends on November 30, 2025. This means that our existing installs now show validation errors for new signed PDFs, and every document now displays a discouraging "SIGNATURE VALIDITY UNKNOWN" banner, driving our legal team crazy with compliance audits approaching. Adobe's solution to keep us legal is either a $72k one-time fee for licenses valid for three years or over $90k annually for a subscription. We tried Foxit, but that didn't go well. I'm hoping someone here knows of a reliable volume reseller who still sells affordable Acrobat Pro 2024 term or perpetual licenses. Are we all just stuck with these expensive subscriptions now?

I've heard others mention moving to PDF XChange as a solid alternative. It tends to be cheaper and many users have found it offers similar features without the hefty price tag. Might be worth exploring!
I get it; staying on older software feels risky especially with compliance standards. Some folks here swear by Foxit, so maybe giving that another shot could be beneficial? Just gauge what works best for your team.
Foxit has its strengths, but I would still be doing thorough testing before fully committing again.
Adobe has definitely been a hassle lately. I'd suggest considering a standard subscription as a stop-gap until you can find a more permanent solution. It might be worth it to avoid disruption in the short term while you explore alternatives!
It's honestly frustrating. Everyone’s pushing us to subscription models now, and as businesses, we have to weigh the risk of being dependent on software that could suddenly disappear. You might want to check with some resellers for good deals—but I totally understand your pain!
So true! It feels like we’re at the mercy of these companies. Let's hope we can find a way to make the best out of this situation.
We switched to Kofax Power PDF and found it to be a decent replacement for our needs. If Adobe features aren't critical for your operations, you might find Kofax works fine for you too!

I've been cautious about switching without knowing more. What has your experience been with PDF XChange? Is there anything I should specifically watch out for?
